Winner of the August prize 2018 for the strong depiction "The famine: the hunger years that shaped Sweden". The crop failure in 1867–69 is one of the worst natural disasters in Sweden's history and its great effects were reinforced by political error decisions. Famine became the start of mass migration, mainly to North America. A shaking story of a distant Sweden, but at the same time a Sweden that was here just now.
